Scope note
Refers to a computational model used for machine learning that is inspired by the operations of biological neural networks. Artificial neural networks do not store and process information as conventional digital computers do. Their operation is based instead on the notion of connection as forged by signals transmitted between nodes, feeding information throughout the network. Such networks can be trained by example in cognitive tasks such as pattern recognition.
